Welcome to my art (and photography) website. Please feel free to roam around and discover my art or look at some of the photo’s I’ve taken in the last couple of years. I’ll post new additions to my blog on a regular basis so don’t forget to read my blog as well.

Why this website?

Because people have been encouraging me to create a website, showing my artwork. And because I felt it was a good way to spread some love. Because art is love. There is absolutely no way any piece of art can be made without the artist putting in some love and passion. Either for the subject, or for the sake of art itself. At least, that’s how it works for me. All my art comes from the heart. And love can’t be bought, so therefor I do not sell my art. But one can obtain a piece of my love, by paying it forward, with the same (com)passion as I put into my drawing.

Why art?

Speaking for myself, I need to express my creativity. If I’m not able to do so, I get all cranky. And a cranky me is no fun to be around.

As a kid I drew a lot. Until highschool basically. In my early 20s, I started painting. Until my first kid was born. And then, for many years to come, I did nothing in the art department. Until 2015, when I found myself doodling during work meetings.

When I came home, I decided I needed to buy a sketchbook and some pencils and since then I’ve been creating. Even got rid of the TV in 2021 (yes, during the pandemic!) because it only took up space in my living room.

In 2021 my eldest left home for his own place and I then renovated my old bedroom into a guestroom – music room where I work and create ever since.

In the past years I’ve been able to collect an impressive collection of drawing materials, enabling me to practically use whatever medium on whatever surface with whatever material but most of the time I keep to drawing with graphite pencils, colored pencils and pastel (pencils and soft pastel chalks). Only on rare occasions I work with oil pastels, water color, acrylic paint and oil paint.
